Designed For

Dustin & Eddie

The Brief

Dustin and Eddie | Stranger Things Cats — two Maine Coons with big personalities — needed a space that matched their size, energy, and curiosity.

Their owners wanted to create a secure outdoor environment that felt enriching and spacious, while also integrating seamlessly with their existing conservatory. The structure needed to feel like a natural extension of the home — not something added on.

The Design

We designed a pergola-style catio that connects directly to the conservatory, allowing for easy access while maintaining a clean, cohesive look.

Balancing this connection point was key. The structure needed to align visually with the conservatory while still holding its own as a bold garden feature.

Finished in Osmo Jet Black, the catio creates a striking, modern contrast, giving the build a strong architectural presence without overwhelming the space.

The pergola-style framework keeps the design feeling open and light, while still providing full security and enclosure.

The Build

With larger breeds in mind, the internal layout was carefully planned to support movement, strength, and comfort.

The space includes:

Elevated shelving for observation and rest
Ramps designed for ease of access
Handcrafted rope peg ladders for climbing and play
Custom-built features to provide both stimulation and retreat

All elements were scaled appropriately for Maine Coons — ensuring the structure feels generous, usable, and well-balanced throughout.

The Result

The finished catio feels fully integrated — both with the conservatory and the wider garden.

For Dustin and Eddie, it offers a dynamic, engaging environment where they can climb, explore, and experience the outdoors safely.

For the owners, it’s more than just a functional space.
It’s a considered addition to their home — one that enhances both the way they live and the way their garden feels.
